A taut political thriller, Artificial Justice stars four-time Goya nominee Verónica Echegui, alongside Goya winners, Alberto Ammann (NARCOS, CELL 211) and Tamar Novas (THE SEA INSIDE).
In the near future, the Spanish Government aims to replace judges with Artificial Intelligence software, pledging to effectively automate and depoliticise the justice system. As part of the process, Carmen Costa (Echegui), a distinguished Judge, has been invited to assess this new procedure.
However, when the software’s creator suddenly disappears, Carmen realises her life is in danger and that she will have to fight the powerful interests at play within business and government, against the backdrop of intense media debate about the new technology.
A highly topical film that blends noir and thriller elements with political conspiracies, while exposing the shady dealings of multinational lobbies, ARTIFICAL JUSTICE is a warning bell on the ethics of technology and steps up the debate on the boundaries of Artificial Intelligence.
