In comedic, transformative drama Mamacruz, Kiti Mánver (WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN) delivers a standout performance as a religious grandmother who faces a moral dilemma when using the internet.
Seamstress Cruz (Mánver) has spent years, actually decades, without achieving sexual fulfillment. Religiously devout, it was not something that she considered particularly important, or that she gave much thought to.
One day, while surfing the internet on her granddaughter’s tablet, she accidentally stumbles across some arousing images, and starts to feel those desires and sensations she had believed were long gone. Now she is faced with a dilemma: how can she balance her religious beliefs with this new awakening? So, Cruz widens her interests, rediscovering the transformative power of her own sensuality and finding enjoyment in forgotten pleasures.
A dynamic character study that combines humour and eroticism, MAMACRUZ is the second feature from Patricia Ortega that pays tribute to women who decide to choose their own destiny.
